This is a formal setting, so formal window treatments were desired. Older homes have a lot of character
and design elements to accent. Notice the architectural features, moldings, large windows, high ceilings
and hardwood floors. In this case, the walls were painted a deep, rich color and the trim a crisp white to accentuate the
nice features. There is no overhead light in this room, so lamps were strategically placed for ample lighting.

This Dining Room is beside the Living Room in the other pictures. As you can see, there
are antique pieces in this home. We also used some contemporary artwork to keep the rooms from getting too serious!
The combination of upholstered chairs and antique chairs also is a nice way to mix periods. The use of area rugs softens
the room and gives texture and pattern, to keep the colors flowing from room to room.

Here is another shot from the Living Room into the Dining Room. Note the large scale of the pictures.
It is a good idea to use large paintings and accessories for impact in decorating. Sometimes small objects and pictures
can make a room look cluttered. It is better to use a few large items than lots of small trinkets when accessorizing
your rooms.
